Wow! What a ride! We are so happy to announce that our Grand Opening event was a huge success. The opening event took place on Saturday, June 17th and with much excitement we were visited by over 1000 people over the course of the weekend! Everyone had an excellent time sampling our 18 flavours of gelato, that was handcrafted right in our very own kitchen.
We even had some special guests stop by for a scoop including Kelowna Now and Miss Universe Canada Finalist Shanelle Connell.
We are just thrilled to be a part of such an inviting and invigorating community from our neighbours next door Dunnenzies, Glow Juicery and Landmark Flowers to all the amazing individuals we have met young and old. Our staff did an incredible job serving up scoops at our tasting counter with friendly smiles.
There are so many people we want to thank for their love, support and partnership in helping us make our dreams come true. Thank you Mark Filatow & Details Catering for the delish appies at our pre-opening friends & family event. A shout out to our awesome neighbours Deb & Karen at DunnEnzies, Dawn at Landmark Flowers and Kathleen at Glow Juicery. Huge kudos and thanks to Wade and his team from Wolverine Industries who did the build out of our space (under much stress and tight deadlines!) and Rene from Elite Life & Home for the design of the retail/shop area. Special thank you to Matthew Froese who was part of the opening team. He leaves us on Wednesday and we are so appreciative of his time in helping us get up and rolling.
Also we have mention our amazing friend & designer Barry Duncan for creating the QB Gelato branding as well as Darbi Nicole and the team at Hiilite Web Design & Marketing for helping to take our vision into reality.
We would also like to recognize Madeleine Saikaley, our comrade in arms…
She has been instrumental in getting us to where we are today. By being the “wind” beneath our wings she has kept us fed, been Victor’s right hand in the kitchen, an extra ear and voice in decisions and overall vision. She moved herself from Ottawa on April 1st and has been a huge support to both of us – we love you Medeleine! Also thank you to Lynda Heyden-Carroll who came in from Ottawa and has been instrumental in keeping us all sane – she was our official dog walker and meal maker, so much gratitude to you as well Lynda.
The list goes on and on, we are just ever so grateful to everyone who has had a part in bringing QB Gelato to life. Most especially we would like to thank our customers, reviews like this one from Nate Flavel (thank you Nate and everyone else for all the kind words!) are why we do what we do. We hope to continue to bring you excellent service, exquisite gelato and a genuine experience every time you visit us. Be sure to like or love us on social media to stay up to date with new flavours and special events or promotions. Have a flavour idea? We want to hear about it! Tell us on social media or even stop by the shop for a scoop and a chat.
Once again, thank you all!
